COMMON QUESTIONS

Touch Memory Key FAQ

Quick answers for model selection, programming and compatibility checks.

A read-only key has an identification value that is not rewritten during normal use. A rewritable key can be programmed with supported equipment. A one-time programmable blank cannot be treated as a reusable rewritable key. Choose according to your system and the model specification.
Not necessarily. Contact shape alone does not establish electrical or system compatibility. Check the exact model, required data format and programming requirements with a sample.
The TM1990A metal-ring version adapts the standard key to compatible magnetic contact readers. The patrol version combines TM1990A with a plastic mounting base for guard-tour systems. Confirm reader and installation requirements before selecting a format.
Do not assume universal support. Programming capability depends on the exact key, equipment and software. Share your programmer model and intended workflow for review; read-only products are not rewritable blanks.
